On February 11th, 2015, the resolution of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly proclaimed the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This decision was taken in order to ensure full and equal access for women and girls to science, empowerment, and gender equality.

The women scientists of Sumy State University have significant scientific achievements.

In particular, in 2020 the National Research Foundation of Ukraine held two competitions: "Science for the safety of people and society" and "Support for research of leading and young scientists." In the first competition the projects of Doctor of Economics, Professor Tetiana Vasylieva, Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna Diakonova, and Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna Sotnyk are among the winners, as well as the project of Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor Tetiana Pimonenko in the second competition.

SumDU women scientists conduct research work on external order, as well as take an active part in research funded by the Ministry of Education and Science in various fields.

The publishing activity of SumDU women scientists deserves the distinction. According to the analytical platform Elsevier SciVal, in the TOP-50 scientists of SumDU by the number of articles and abstracts of conferences published in editions indexed by the Scopus database, in 2015-2020 included 11 women.

We wish all the SumDU scientists enthusiasm, inexhaustible creative energy, inspiration, and success in the implementation of scientific ideas, new discoveries, and achievements!
