Science Day celebrations took place at SumDU

On the third Saturday of May, Ukraine celebrates Science Day. Traditionally, Sumy State University organizes celebrations on the holiday, honoring the winners in various nominations related to scientific activities. This year's festive event took place the day before, in the online format.

The rector Vasyl Karpusha greeted the scientific community of SumDU. He noted the scientific achievements of university science, high human potential, thanked scientific and pedagogical workers for their significant contribution to the development of the university's image.

"Sumy State University is known far beyond our country, first of all, thanks to great success in scientific research, in the growth of scientific works, numerous victories in scientific grant projects, in publishing activity," the rector said.

Among the significant achievements is the successful passing of the State certification in terms of scientific activity, as a result of which SumDU entered the highest qualification group "A" in four scientific areas and is a leader among higher education institutions of Ukraine.

In terms of the number of project-winners of the competitions of the National Research Fund of Ukraine in 2020, SumDU takes third place among scientific institutions and organizations of Ukraine and has the highest indicator among domestic HEIs in the number of prizes in student research competitions.

On Science Day, scientists and structural subdivisions were awarded for the highest indicators in scientific activity.
