On June 23, the fourth meeting of the Subcommission on cooperation in the field of education between the Governments of Ukraine and the People's Republic of China took place.

It was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Education: from Ukraine – the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Andrii Vitrenko and from China – the Deputy Minister of Education Tian Xuejun.

Within an online meeting of the Subcommission, it was announced about the establishment of the Chinese-Ukrainian University Alliance, which included 6 higher education institutions from each country. Sumy State University is among the Ukrainian HEIs. During the online meeting, SumDU signed an agreement on international cooperation with the Shenyang Aerospace University.

The participants discussed issues of strengthening of cooperation between higher education institutions of Ukraine and China, in particular, exchanging information on the new innovative approaches in education in the two countries, holding joint events to share experience in the context of creating and operating new platforms for distance learning during the pandemic, comprehensive support in the learning of the language, literature, and culture of the two countries, as well as prospects for the development of academic mobility of students, the introduction of double degree diplomas, double guidance of research papers, features of master and postgraduate studies.

The Deputy Ministers of Education of both countries noted the high level of implementation of the agreements reached at the third meeting of the Subcommission and expressed hope for further development and expansion of bilateral cooperation.
