On August 10th Sumy State University was visited by the Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Ukraine Dirisu IREN Assistant of the Consul of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Ukraine Ukadike CHINEMERE.

The guests visited the university in order to get acquainted with the learning and accommodation environment of their citizens, the student community of which at SumDU is one of the largest. Now there are 336 Nigerian citizens in the university, most of them are studying Medicine.

During the meeting at the Congress Center, the representatives of the Embassy discussed with the Nigerian students the issues of studying, accommodation, and leisure activities. While the introduction to the material and technical base of SumDU, Dirisu IREN, and Ukadike CHINEMERE visited the University Hospital, The Palace of Student Sports, the Library complex and learned that the university has a high potential for foreign students’ studying, and provides appropriate leisure, sports activities, comfortable living conditions.

During the meeting with the First Vice-Rector Serhiy Lyeonov, the representatives of the departments working with foreign students discussed the relevant questions on the organization of the learning process and the Nigerian students’ stay in Ukraine, as well as further cooperation in this field.
