Freshmen of SumDU passed initiation into students

On August 31, Sumy State University hosted a traditional initiation of freshmen into students. After the quarantine break, a new student shift, parents, teachers, and guests of the event gathered at the square in front of the university.

"We have a good addition to the university family, as evidenced by the high entrance scores of freshmen. I hope that they will become the best students, will be able to take advantage of all the opportunities provided by SumDU, build a successful career and continue to glorify our university," - SumDU Rector Vasyl KARPUSHA said.

An important and exciting moment was the proclamation of the oath of a freshman and the presentation of a symbolic student card. In 2021, this honorary mission was given to a first-year student of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, an “A” grade student, the winner of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads, and the All-Ukrainian competition of scientific works of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Zlata BABYCH.

Honorary guests came to the event to congratulate the freshmen on their initiation: People's Deputies of Ukraine Mykhailo ANANCHENKO and Tetiana SKRYPKA, the Head of the Regional State Administration Dmytro ZHYVYTSKYI, the Head of the Sumy Regional Council Viktor FEDORCHENKO, Deputy Mayor of Sumy Stanislav POLIAKOV.

"Today is a very exciting day for me because exactly 22 years ago I stood at this square and waited for us to take the oath and become students of Sumy State University. This university gave me a start in life, taught me a lot, so I am happy that SumDU now is a leading university among Ukrainian, European and world institutions of higher education", - Dmytro ZHYVYTSKYI shared his impressions.

The Head of the Regional State Administration wished the freshmen health, success in their studies, enjoyment of new knowledge, communication with friends and colleagues, as well as success in their profession.

Performances of creative teams of the Cultural and Art Center of SumDU gave the guests festive spirit and bright emotions, a traditional dance flashmob with freshmen from all faculties and institutes of the university was a symbol of unity and the beginning of student life.
