On September 20, a large-scale All-Ukrainian fitness and health recreation event dedicated to the International Student Sports Day took place in Vinnytsia.
The winners of the III Winter and XVI Summer Universiades of Ukraine in the team classification were awarded at the celebration.
Athletes of Sumy State University have excellent results in sports arenas of Ukraine, Europe and the world, in particular, at the XVI Summer Universiade of Ukraine they won the 1st team place among universities with more than 10 thousand students and 2nd place among all universities of Ukraine.
Scoring points of SumDU athletes provided an opportunity to position the Sumy region in 1st place among other regions of Ukraine in its group. The 2nd place among all HEIs of Ukraine is also the achievement of the III Winter Universiade of Ukraine.
In total, the university received 5 cups at the celebrations, which certify the winning place in the team classification at the All-Ukrainian Universiade. The President of the European Student Sports Association Adam ROCHEK presented the victory cup to the Head of the Sumy separated subdivision of the Sports Student Union of Ukraine, Honorary Rector, Head of the Academic Council of SumDU Anatoliy VASYLYEV.
