On September 21-22, Sumy State University was presented at the Day of Ukrainian Education "Study in Ukraine 2021", which took place in Abuja under the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Nigeria.

The exhibition was dedicated to the promotion of Ukrainian education on the west coast of Africa. 

SumDU was represented at the event by the Vice-Director of the Academic and Research Institute of Business, Economics and Management for Coordination of Collaboration with Foreign Institutions and for Work with International Students Tetyana MAYBORODA. 

The presentation stand of Sumy State University attracted great interest of the participants of the exhibition. Prospective students and their parents were actively interested in opportunities for higher education at SumDU.

Also during the visit, the University’s representative met with the Minister of Education of the Federal State of Abuja, Honorary Chukwuemeka NWAJIUBA, where they held the discussion on the recognition of Ukrainian degrees, scholarships for Nigerian students for study in Ukraine, expanding cooperation between higher education institutions and signing a bilateral agreement in the field of education between Ukraine and Nigeria. In particular, Hon. Chukvuemeka NWAJIUBA expressed his support for the cooperation between SumDU and Bingham University as a successful example of a partnership between higher education institutions of the two countries.

For reference: 365 students from Nigeria are currently studying at SumDU. It is the largest students community among African countries at the University.
