Judo competitions were held on July 24-26 in the city of Lodz (Republic of Poland) as part of the European University Games-2022. The representatives of Sumy State University achieved the incredible achievement - 10 out of 11 judoka participants became champions and prize-winners of the 2022 Games, winning 8 medals (two gold, two silver and four bronze).

In the individual event, Anastasia ANTYPINA became the champion in the category up to 63 kg. Kyrylo SAMOTUG (up to 60 kg) and Nataliya CHYSTIAKOVA (up to 70 kg) won silver. The bronze medal was won by Daryna LIASHUK (up to 57 kg), Anton SHUGALIEYEV (up to 73 kg), Khrystyna HOMAN (78+ kg) and Oleksiy HALAKA (100+ kg).

The bright end of the Games was the competition of mixed (men + women) teams. The Sumy State University team consisting of: Anastasia ANTYPINA, Nataliya CHYSTIAKOVA, Khrystyna HOMAN, Daryna LIASHUK, Vladyslav KOLOBOV, Mykyta HOLOBORODKA, Oleksandr CHERKAY and Oleksiy HALAKY won the gold medal for Ukraine!
