On 12 September 2022, the Turkish embassy delegation visited Sumy State University. It was headed by Yağmur Ahmet GÜLDERE (the Turkish ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Ukraine).

Among places to visit, there were Sumy higher education institutions and Sumy Oblast Military Administration. Mr. Güldere discussed issues of research and education as well as cooperation prospects.

SumDU work with Turkey is quite long. In particular, 12 international cooperation treaties with Turkish organizations have been signed by our university. They outline research and education tendencies, joint project realization, academic mobility and exchange programs, common publications.

Within the EU Erasmus+ grant, some international credit mobility projects are implemented with 7 Turkish universities. Here, lecturers, PhD students and undergraduates are exchanged for EU expenses.

During the meeting, especial attention was paid to educational process arrangement. The reason: at SumDU, 111 Turkish students study medicine, economics, management, engineering. To demonstrate university abilities in distance learning, guests were invited to online and webinar studios. Also, they observed the Ulab laboratory of virtual and augmented reality.

“Distance learning may be high-quality and promising if it is based on the latest technologies,” – stated Vasyl KARPUSHA (the SumDU rector).

Yağmur Ahmet GÜLDERE proved experience and high cooperation with SumDU. He hoped for its further development.
