Within a business trip to Nigeria on 12 July 2023, Tetiana MAIBORODA (the deputy head of the SumDU International Affairs Department) met with William QURIX (the rector) and lecturers of the Bingham University.
After the campus visit, there was a meeting at the Ukrainian Embassy in Nigeria. The participants were Ivan KHOLOSTENKO (the Ukrainian ambassador in Nigeria), Olena NEDRYHAILO (the representative of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Nigeria) and other persons.
In this country, Ukrainian diplomas are recognized and highly appreciated. Before the full-scale war, Nigeria was one of top five states whose students learn in Ukraine. By its size, the SumDU community of Nigerian students was the second after India. Today, Nigerian entrants are ready and want to study at Ukrainian universities. Therefore, the meeting focused on partnership relations between education institutions of both countries.
Tetiana MAIBORODA discussed prospects of further cooperation. Ivan KHOLOSTENKO underlined the Ukrainian Embassy readiness to promote the SumDU-Nigeria study cooperation.
For a while, SumDU and the Bingham University have been co-working as partners in education projects. In particular, there were academic exchanges, virtual mobilities, short-term courses, students’ transfers, etc.).
“Our partnership has been lasting for 5 years. Together we have realized many programs. Currently, we keep cooperating via new projects,” said Tetiana MAIBORODA about the event results.
She thanked the Ukrainian Embassy in Nigeria for the negotiations support.
