From September 29 to October 1, 2024, a significant event took place in Fulda, Germany – the Second General Assembly of the European University Alliance E³UDRES², which welcomed over 100 participants. The Alliance unites leading European higher education institutions that collaborate on innovations in science, education, and industrial research. For the first time, all members of the Alliance gathered at Fulda University of Applied Sciences to discuss strategic development directions, assess the results of the first year of funding, and plan future steps.
A highlight of this meeting was the inclusion of new associate partners, including Sumy State University, which was represented by Alla KRASULIA, Head of the International Affairs Department, and Tetyana MAYBORODA, Deputy Head of the International Affairs Department. Sumy State University's participation in the Alliance marks an important step towards strengthening international cooperation and integration into the European higher education.
The event program was intensive and included several strategic meetings, such as the Executive Board Meeting, the Student Board Meeting to evaluate ongoing activities, and the election of members of the Student Executive Council. Special attention was given to the Future University Forum, where productive discussions took place on joint projects, financial prospects, and opportunities for expanding cooperation in the context of innovative initiatives. In addition to official meetings, participants had the chance to attend the Intercultural Awareness Session, fostering even greater cohesion among representatives of different countries and cultures.
The Sumy State University team actively engaged in all key discussions within the Alliance, particularly regarding the future development of joint projects and the expansion of the partnership network. Alla Krasulia shared her impressions of the event, “It was truly an exciting experience, filled with productive discussions about future projects and collaborations. We felt a warm welcome and strong involvement in the Alliance’s work.”
Representatives from universities in Germany, Finland, Portugal, Belgium, Romania, Latvia, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, as well as new associate members from Kosovo, Albania, and Ukraine, attended the event, making it a great opportunity for exchanging experiences and ideas.
As an associate partner of E³UDRES², Sumy State University continues to strengthen its position on the international stage, contributing to the development of innovative educational and research initiatives at the European level and creating new opportunities for students and faculty.
