Biathlete Serhii SUPRUN won the second gold medal at the XXII World Universiade in Turin for Ukraine and Sumy State University.

As a member of the Ukrainian national team, the 21-year-old student majoring in Physical Culture and Sports at the SumDU Medical Institute, together with a student from Kharkiv University (Oleksandra MERKUSHYNA), won the mixed single relay.

From the very beginning, the Ukrainians were in the leading group of medal contenders. After crossing the race equator, our team seized the lead and did not give it up until the finish line.

The victory in the relay was a result of coordinated work of the athletes and their hard training.

SumDU is proud of its students who make a significant contribution to the international sports image of Ukraine.

We sincerely congratulate Serhii SUPRUN on this outstanding victory! We wish him and his team further success on the sports arena!
