On September 14, the Erasmus+ Day was held at the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies of Sumy State University. The event was held in a mixed format and brought together the learners, researchers, and teachers interested in academic mobility, in particular, participation in the EU Erasmus+ programme.
Athletes of Sumy State University won gold and bronze medals at the European Judo Junior Championship.
On September 9, the SumDU Congress Center hosted a press conference on the results of the updated World University Rankings from the established international agency in the field of higher education - Times Higher Education.
According to the August 2021 version of the World Transparent Ranking from the Webometrics, the SumDU Repository ranks 35th among about 3,800 institutional repositories and 45th among almost 4,000 repositories worldwide and is the first among Ukraine's institutional repositories in terms of the number of documents indexed by Google Scholar (59,500).
From September 5 to 11, Sumy State University held the annual event 2021 IEEE 11th International Conference "Nanomaterials: Applications & Properties" (IEEE NAP - 2021), in Odesa.
Sumy State University is the first among Ukrainian universities and secures its position among 501-600 best universities of the world according to the updated World University Rankings from the established international agency in the field of higher education - Times Higher Education (THE).
On August 31, Sumy State University hosted a traditional initiation of freshmen into students. After the quarantine break, a new student shift, parents, teachers, and guests of the event gathered at the square in front of the university.

On August 29, the third camp shift in the sanatorium complex "Univer" of SumDU was closed. This summer, the camp accepted 550 children for rest and wellness, including children of SumDU employees, talented and gifted children, as well as children of privileged categories.
On August 27th the meeting of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance took place where the decision on the accreditation of the Doctor of Philosophy study program in major “Biology” was made with a definition “Exemplary”.
