On 1-4 October 2024, the fifth training workshop “Network of Universities to Improve Management Capabilities and New Developments: The Best Practices of the University of Strasbourg and the EPICUR Alliance” took place in France. The host was the University of Strasbourg (France). The event was held within the EU Erasmus+ project “Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative” (DigiUni).

Natalia Letunovska and Yurii Petrushenko (researchers from the BiEM Institute) have been awarded Fulbright scholarships to conduct research at American institutions in 2024-2025.

On 1 October 2024 (Day of Ukrainian Defenders), the Alley of Fallen Hero Glory was opened at SumDU. It is dedicated to soldiers of the 155th battalion and the Basy territorial defense unit.

On 1 October 2024, Ukraine honors heroes – courageous and victorious defenders of our country! On the eve of the Day of Ukrainian Defenders, SumDU laid flowers at the “Memorial Sign to the Fallen Student Soldier”.

Roman MOSKALENKO and Oleksii PLASTUN (SumDU professors) are winners of the Talents for Ukraine grant program from the KSE Foundation in the Science category.

Kateryna PERCHULA is a fourth-year student majoring in Social Work at SumDU. She juggles studies and work. Her profession takes on extra importance during the full-scale invasion. She helps war victims.

The innovative semi-industrial machine, created by SumDU on the order of a Czech company, can improve the properties of polymers by applying nanotubes to the raw granule surface.

On 17-20 September 2024, the picturesque French city of Toulouse hosted the largest international educational exhibition and conference called “European Association of International Education 2024”. It gathered more than 7,000 participants from almost 100 countries.

On 20 September 2024, SumDU celebrated the International Student Sports Day. The event was attended by students, teachers and guests of honor.

On 15-22 September 2024, the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Poland) is hosting a summer school for 65 students from seven Ukrainian institutions. They belong to the project “Education for Green Transformation of Ukrainian Universities”.

SumDU is represented by the BiEM and Law Institutes as well as the IFSK Faculty. They have applied for and passed the selection contest. Students learn zero-emission traffic, green projects, sustainable design, environmental accounting, ESG business strategies.

There were trainings in micro-qualification programs on sustainable development and strategic planning for green transformation of Ukrainian higher education institutions. They were attended by Ivan KOZII (vice rector for academic work) and Denys SMOLENNIKOV (head of the Benchmarking and Statistics Department).

The project “Education for Green Transformation of Ukrainian Universities” is being implemented by a consortium of seven Ukrainian higher education institutions. It is supported by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. The project is funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.
