The American newspaper “The Nova Hazeta” published an article titled “Sumy: The Longest Day in the Life of a Frontline City”. The author is Raisa STOIAN, a journalist and leading expert at the Department of Journalism and Philology.
From 28 April to 2 May 2025, a delegation from SumDU visited JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Finland), a member of the E³UDRES² alliance of European universities.
The visit was part of the international grant project “Pedagogy in the State of Emergency”. It is funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education within the Team Finland Knowledge program.
On 8 May 2025, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen LISOVYI paid a working visit to Sumy Oblast, during which he visited SumDU.

This is not just a historical date, but a reminder of the price that humanity paid for peace, and which we, Ukrainians, are still paying today. This day reverberates in our hearts like never before: in our daily reality, where the war is still going on nearby and the heroes are among us.
On 30 April 2025, SumDU welcomed honored guests –delegation of the Ukrainian Catholic University, headed by rector Taras DOBKO.
Modern education is impossible without international experience, and SumDU students have suitable opportunities for their professional and personal development. One of these students is Daryna PETROVCHUK. She shared her experience of interning in Spain.
On 26-28 April 2025, the European Khortynh Championship was held in Milan. Oleksandr KUCHERENKO (a student of the Faculty of Technical Systems and Information Technologies) successfully represented Ukraine at this competition.
On 24 April 2025, SumDU hosted a meeting of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Board. The participants discussed a number of topical issues, including performance of online learning, participation of students in the internal system of quality assurance, and formation of individual educational trajectories.
SumDU is known for its international programs that allow students to expand their horizons and gain valuable experience abroad. Anton ZHURAVKA (BiEM student) shared his experience of participating in the academic mobility program, thanks to which he studied at the University of Liverpool.
