Follow-up Cooperation Training for Ukraine on Issue-Specific Training “Industrial Technology Education” (an international grant project) had been finished. It was funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and ESD Consortium in Aichi.

Some lectures were held by Estonians and Americans for students of the SumDU Academic and Reasearch Institute of Law. They are called “The Armed Conflict Law” and “Current Problems of the International Criminal Law”.

According to the 2023 Transparent Ranking winter version (Webometrics), the SumDU Repository has taken the 1st place in Ukraine as to documents indexed by Google Scholar (69 300).

On 21 February 2023, SumDU launched lectures of Yurii Hohotsi (DSc in Engineering, professor, director of the A.J. Drexel Nanotechnology Institute in the USA). He is an Honorary SumDU Doctor.

On 11-12 February 2023, the Open European Judo Cup was organized in Sofia (Bulgaria). The Ukrainian national team took the third place among 43 countries. Totally, 5 medals were awarded (2 golds, 2 silvers, 1 bronze). SumDU students of the Physical Culture and Sports specialty contributed to the victory significantly. Mykyta HOLOBORODKO (under 66 kg) got a gold. It is the highest achievement in career. He completed the international qualifying standard of the Ukrainian Sports Master.

On February 10, Sumy State University delegates took part in symposium of the Urban X-Change Network project in German twin-city for Sumy: "Joint Peace Center Celle-Sumy: Support in times of crisis through education, social affairs and culture", dedicated to the organization of lifelong learning and adult education as its component during crisis period.

SumDU students began their long-term study at University of Liverpool. Among them, there are members of the Department of Germanic Philology and the Department of Ecology and Environment Protection Technologies.

According to Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics), Sumy State University improved its reputation. It rose by over 100 positions. Among the best world universities, SumDU took the 1350th place. Besides, it follows two best Ukrainian institutions: Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.

On 27 January 2023, there was an online meeting between SumDU (Ukraine) and Alte University (Georgia). It resulted in signing a partnership treaty.
