The event titled Europe: United in Diversity took place from October 30 to November 2, 2024 at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and brought together representatives from higher education institutions across Europe.
On 2 November 2024, SumDU invited pupils, students of professional colleges, their parents and teachers to the Open Door Day. The traditional event for applicants was held in SumDU shelters. “Find Your Specialty or It Will Find You” was the motto.
Cooperation with communities: SumDU experience within the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities project
Osvita.ua has published an article on the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities project “Strengthening the Capacity of Communities to Recover through Piloting Their Interaction with Universities”.
On 30 October 2024, SumDU hosted a presentation of the interim results of the project “Space of Opportunities: A Program of Facilitation Meetings on Employment and Career Planning for Veterans and Their Families”.
Sumy State University is highly active internationally, partnering with over 300 institutions across 60 countries and participating in 4 EU alliances. These connections create valuable opportunities for students and faculty to engage in academic mobility and collaborate on joint research initiatives. Journalists of the well-known Ukrainian periodical have explored the topic of scientific cooperation between higher education institutions and enterprises. SumDU is among examples of successful partnership.
On 25 October 2024 (the Day of Ukrainian Literacy), SumDU students and staff came together to share the unique atmosphere of unity that has been created by the largest Ukrainian-language flash mob for twenty-five years in a row.

The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program is an international program to promote international exchange of knowledge and cultures. It provides lecturers from different countries with an opportunity to gain new experience in teaching and research at American universities. In 2024-2025, 10 scholars from Ukraine were awarded Fulbright scholarships. Two of them belong to SumDU.
