On 26 October 2023, Times Higher Education (one of the most authoritative international rating agencies) published a rank of the best universities by field of knowledge.

On 24 October 2023, an educational forum “Rebuilding Ukraine through the Synergy of Universities and Local Communities” was held in Kyiv. Among the organizers, there was Sumy State University as a member of the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities.

Scaling up the project “Emotional Burnout of Medical Workers” comes to end. In June 2023, it won the all-Ukrainian contest of student civic action projects “DemBachenia”.

Yurii PETRUSHENKO (head of the SumDU Department of International Economic Relations, head of the EU Information Center in Sumy Oblast) had a working study trip to EU institutions.

On 8-14 September 2023, the International Summer School “Cultural and Scientific Promotion of the University” was held at the Adam Mickiewicz University. 27 Ukrainian institutions took part. Sumy State University was presented by Julia KOVAL (a Media Center employee).

On 12 October 2023, the 75th anniversary of SumDU founding and #ErasmusDays 2023 held a round table “Systemic Impact of International Projects on the Development of Ukrainian Universities and Higher Education: From Tempus to Erasmus+ and the European University Alliances”.

On 11 October 2023, the NovaГазета periodical (for the Ukrainian diaspora in New York) published an article by Raisa STOIAN. She is a senior lecturer of the Department of Journalism and Philology of Sumy State University. The article reports on activities of university volunteers during the full-scale Russian invasion into Ukraine.

Within the partnership between SumDU, Krakow University of Economics and Małopolska School of Public Administration (Poland), a meeting was held under the international EU project “Developing Innovative Sustainable Cooperation Opportunities-DISCO”.

Sumy State University is 75 years old since its foundation. On 12 October 2023, the anniversary forum gathered scientific and pedagogical workers, representatives of administrative management, student self-government, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional authorities, people’s deputies, members of the Supervisory Board. Also, there were veterans who developed and contributed to the SumDU success. Colleagues from partner institutions joined too.

On 11 October 2023, a press conference was held on the basis of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University. It presented the project “Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative” (DigiUni) of the Erasmus+ Program.
