From September 5 to 11, Sumy State University held the annual event 2021 IEEE 11th International Conference "Nanomaterials: Applications & Properties" (IEEE NAP - 2021), in Odesa.
Sumy State University is the first among Ukrainian universities and secures its position among 501-600 best universities of the world according to the updated World University Rankings from the established international agency in the field of higher education - Times Higher Education (THE).
On August 31, Sumy State University hosted a traditional initiation of freshmen into students. After the quarantine break, a new student shift, parents, teachers, and guests of the event gathered at the square in front of the university.

On August 29, the third camp shift in the sanatorium complex "Univer" of SumDU was closed. This summer, the camp accepted 550 children for rest and wellness, including children of SumDU employees, talented and gifted children, as well as children of privileged categories.
On August 27th the meeting of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance took place where the decision on the accreditation of the Doctor of Philosophy study program in major “Biology” was made with a definition “Exemplary”.

On August 11th the representative of the Shanxi Agricultural University (People’s Republic of China) Van JUNZHONG visited Sumy State University.
On August 10th Sumy State University was visited by the Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Ukraine Dirisu IREN Assistant of the Consul of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Ukraine Ukadike CHINEMERE.
From July 26th to August 2nd Sumy State University participated in the largest exhibition of higher education, science, and technologies of Tanzania annually organized by the Commission for Universities of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technologies.
