Medical, rehabilitation, socio-psychological support, professional integration and reintegration – these are the tasks of the SumDU Veteran Recovery Center. Its opening took place on 13 September 2023 with the participation of Tetiana KALYTA (the Deputy Minister of Ukrainian Veteran Affairs for digital development, transformations and digitalization), representatives of local authorities and social services. The Center will take care of veterans.
Before the Sports Day came, SumDU athletes talked online to Volodymyr ZELENSKYI (the Ukrainian President).

On 24-27 August 2023, Osrblie (Brezno District, Slovakia) held the summer biathlon championship for juniors and adults. The Ukrainian national team succeeded with 11 medals (2 golds, 4 silvers, 5 bronzes).
On 23 August 2023, Vasyl KRAPUSHA (the SumDU rector) met Nitita MASLIUK and Oleksandr MASLIUK. The former is a Law Institute student and a bronze-winner of the European junior championship. The latter is his coach.
The SumDU delegation (headed by rector Vasyl KARPUSHA) visited University of Liverpool. The purpose was raising partnership in education and research.
Since the previous year, SumDU and University of Liverpool have been partners within the Twinning Initiative. The program cooperation comprises summer school, student exchanges, advanced training, online courses, access to world databases. Besides, there was joint work in brand management, marketing, library and research.
In 2023, Sumy State University admitted over 800 persons for the budget education. As of 18 August, 468 students were admitted for the contract education.
The admission is still going on. We are waiting for more entrants.

Jerusalem (Israel) hosts a European junior championship. As a SumDU student from the Law Institute, Nikita MASLIUK got the bronze medal in long jumping for the age of under 20. His result is 7 m 97 cm.
Graduation of foreign SumDU students is a great event for the whole university family. It shows intercultural diversity and worldwide academic achievements.
On 2-3 August 2023 in Lviv, the Ukrainian Catholic University hosted a meeting of the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities. Here, new academic year’s strategy and plans were arranged.
