On January 20th, Tetiana Vasylyeva, the Director of Oleg Balatskyi Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management, and Yurii Petrushenko, the Head of the Department of International Economic Relations, took part in the “Learning Cities” international webinar organized by the South Korean Association of Cities.

The Webometrics Ranking has published the first edition of its subsidiary the Transparent Ranking in the new year. SumDU took 4th place among the most cited universities of Ukraine, second only after Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.
At the end of 2020, Sumy State University joined the new project of the American Councils for International Education “Academic Integrity and Quality Initiative - Academic IQ”.
The results of the annual competition "Pedagogical innovations of SumDU" are summed up. The purpose of the competition is to stimulate pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers of the university to create and disseminate new modern forms and methods of teaching to ensure a high level of education, implementation of the best practices in educational activities.

For the seventh year in a row, Sumy State University occupies a high position in the regional QS ranking among universities from developing European countries and Central Asia - QS EECA.
On December 17th, Sumy State University hosted the election of the rector. The election commission reports that 91,6% of the voters took part in the secret ballot. 83.8% of the voters out of the total number of 1604 voted for the First Vice-Rector of SumDU Vasyl Karpusha.
Congratulations to Vasyl Karpusha on the strong support of the university staff!
On December 16th, the leaders of the student self-government bodies of higher education institutions and vocational colleges of the Sumy region (28 people in total) participated in an online meeting of the Student Council of the Sumy Regional State Administration.
The decision on exemplary accreditation in the major 113 "Applied Mathematics" in the study program "Data Science and Complex Systems Modeling" was made on December 15th at a meeting of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.
