Within the joint project with the Czech University of Natural Sciences (Prague) "AgriSciences Platform for Strengthening of Science in Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine" 4 scientists of Sumy State University received research cross-disciplinary grants, and another 7 – for research mobilities to the city of Prague.
Within the agreement with the University of Umeå, Sumy State University was provided with modern histotechnical and high-tech microscopic equipment worth over UAH 2.5 million free of charge to equip the research center.
Sumy State University conducts stable educational activities using modern distance technologies, discipline programs in all majors are performed qualitatively, as evidenced by the test of students' knowledge based on the results of the first module of the autumn semester.
On October 28th one of the most significant world ranking agencies Times Higher Education published the results of the subject rankings. Sumy State University showed a great improvement in its position and for the first time presented in the ranking in three subjects at once: “Business and Economics” (ranking group 401-500), “Engineering” (501-600), “Physics” (1001+).
The students of the Computer Science Department, Section of the Information Technologies of SumDU joined the competition "Become an IT specialist” for schoolchildren as mentors, which started on October 21st.
On October 16th, the International Affairs Department organized an online event "SumDU in the Erasmus+ community" for the university students and researchers. The purpose of the flashmob is to present the scholarship and grant opportunities of the programme, as well as the success stories of its implementation at SumDU.
The video "Your voice is important", developed by a creative group of students and postgraduates of SumDU “Backstage of Life”, as well as the video "Your vote in the election has the power" by the Head of SumDU Media Center Maryna Osiukhina were recognized as the best in the nomination "Art Video".
In difficult quarantine conditions, in compliance with all anti-epidemic measures, athlete students of SumDU continue the training process and prepared well for the competitions and winnings in prestigious sports arenas. Our judo students performed successfully at the Championship of Ukraine on October 14th-15th in Zaporizhia.
Sumy State University took 1st place among more than 200 domestic HEIs in the number of prizes in the All-Ukrainian competition of student research works of 2019/2020 academic year, once again confirming the high level of scientific qualification of students.
In October 2020, on the initiative of the Department of Management, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Sumy State University and Washington State University (Pullman, USA). The Memorandum provides for joint work in conducting research, training, advanced training, organization, and participation in joint projects.
