On February 21st, Acting Student Rector of SumDU Mykyta Kovalevskyi and student activists Vireko Andrew Avuah (Medical Institute), Maryna Oleksenko (Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications), Dmytro Lobas (Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies), Kateryna Popova (Academic and Research Institute of Law), Vladyslav Piven (Academic and Research Institute of Business, Economics and Management) and Arina Stolbtsova (Machine Building Professional College of Sumy State University) took the challenge on the International First Language Day in social networks, having read Serhii Zhadan's poem “Radist – tse te, shcho daietsia z boiem” (Joy doesn’t come easy) together.

The students of the Medical Institute of Sumy State University won gold and silver medals at the Ukrainian Youth Sambo Championship. The championship was held in Kharkiv on the 4th-7th of February.
